Anyways, after being cooped up in the apartment for two days, I thought I'd do the Shekou Mountain hike. I was mistaken in thinking that it would be easy… I don't think I've ever climbed up and down so many steps in my life! And when I thought I'd reached the top, it was just the top of the first peak! The pathway climbs straight up the mountain, up at least 500 steps. There are lookout points along the way, and plenty of benches to catch your breath at. The trail then traverses along the top of the mountain, dips down, and then climbs the second "peak." At the very top there is a snack bar, and I can't imagine how that person gets to work each day! There were many people walking the trail. I was quite impressed. It was a great experience, but will I do it again? Time will tell ;-)

| These trees are plentiful here. Interesting root system! |

Glad you're feeling well enough to do that hike after feeling sick for 2 days. Whoa. I made some western food today: pork tenderloin with roast veg and mashed potatoes...and gravy! The flowering trees are so incredible. Well, all of the plants really. xoxo
ReplyDeleteMmmm…. that sounds delicious!! My appetite is finally back to normal. I had to stay away from Chinese food for a number of days after being sick, but I'm good to go now. I thought of you when I saw the flowering vines. Wouldn't they look amazing scattered throughout your lovely woods!
