It felt good to be back home in Shenzhen, (I missed my travelling buddies!), and just in time for St. Paddy's Day. I spent the day catching up on some work and fine-tuning the logo designs I'd worked on for my new client and then in the early evening met up with Brad, Xian, Jeff, and some other friends at Señor Frogs for some drinks. I thought that the Irish pub McCawleys would be a more appropriate place for St. Patrick's Day but hey, frogs are green so that's close enough for me. Besides, it seemed to be the place to be that night. We sat outside in the warm evening air and friends who passed by joined, so the group grew over time. The owner of Señor Frogs was happy to have us all there and bought us a round of drinks and some food. Good times!
The next day, I arranged to meet my client at his office to discuss the logo concepts I'd come up with. I sent him a PDF to print out before I got there, and when I arrived at the office, he and his staff had already made their decision, and had their chosen logo in use on their ship tracking monitor! It all went very smoothly, and he has hired me to do their business cards next. Yay!
Later that day, Xian and I met up and went for what I thought would be a simple facial, but oh my gosh, it was so much more; an upper body, arm and hand massage, a facial, and a scalp massage, by the sweetest, and most caring ladies one can imagine. I felt so pampered and cared for. I was in heaven. When they spoke amongst themselves, they spoke softly, almost whispering, so as not to disturb the experience. The treatment seemed to go on a long while, maybe even two hours. Pure bliss I tell you! When I opened my eyes at the end, there were four lovely Chinese faces smiling back at me, flooding me with compliments and saying how they want me to be their new friend! They helped me get dressed, handing me each piece of clothing in a delicate, gingerly manner, sat me down and combed my hair, and gave me hot water to drink. This was my first facial ever, and one I will never forget.
Sounds amazing! Not all facials are like that. Wowzers. You are fitting in to this lifestyle pretty easily hey? Those flowers in your last post..wow..I saw our first little spring flower bloom in the front yard today. It was incredibly encouraging, yet we are poised to get 30-50cm on (you guessed it) Wednesday!!
